Our Calligraphy as an Art program, developed and co-written by master calligrapher Giorgi Sisauri and our founder Liana Nitsetskaia, stands as a testament to the timeless beauty of the Georgian language. This transformative program took participants on an artistic and scholarly exploration of Georgia’s three unique writing systems - Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri, and Mkhedruli - with a special focus on the artistry of capital letter creation (საზედაო ასოების ხელოვნება).

What began with an ambitious series of 30 lectures quickly captured the imagination of students, leading us to expand the program by funding an additional 44 lectures. Over two years, this program evolved into more than just a course - it became a cultural movement, showcasing the profound elegance of Georgian calligraphy through multiple exhibitions and events both at the Georgian Heritage Foundation and at the National Centre of Manuscripts in Tbilisi, Georgia.

At its heart, this program allowed students to engage with calligraphy as a true art form, offering them a rare opportunity to delve deep into the historical and visual splendor of the Georgian script. Under the expert guidance of Giorgi Sisauri, a renowned master calligrapher, painter, and poet, students discovered the intricate relationship between art and language, learning the precise craftsmanship involved in shaping each stroke and letter.

The culmination of this journey was our celebrated exhibit, "Praise Georgian Alphabet" (ანბანთქება), where the works of our talented students were displayed alongside Giorgi Sisauri’s masterpieces. This exhibit not only celebrated the completion of the program but also paid homage to the enduring legacy of the Georgian alphabet.
