Georgian Book Section Opening at the San Jose Public Library

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the successful curation and public opening of the Georgian Book Section on June 20th, 2024, at the San Jose Public Library. This momentous occasion marked a significant step in sharing and celebrating Georgian culture within the heart of our community.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Mayor Matt Mahan of San Jose, San Jose City Librarian Jill Bourne, and her incredible team at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library for their unwavering support in making this initiative a reality. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Consulate General of Georgia in San Francisco, Director Konstantin Gamsakhurdia and his team at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, and the dedicated contributions of Zaza Korinteli, Pavel Sirotin, and the Bevri team.

A special thank you to our Georgian Diaspora members and all the guests who came together to make the opening ceremony a resounding success. The event was filled with warmth, positivity, and the richness of Georgian culture, complemented by beautiful music, delicious Georgian cuisine, and, of course, books that are now ready to be checked out and enjoyed by all.

We are excited to continue our collaboration with the City of San Jose and the San Jose Public Library as we launch future programs, beginning with the upcoming lecture series.
