  • San Jose Public Library 150 East San Fernando Street San Jose, CA, 95112 United States (map)

In honor of Georgia’s Independence Day, embark on a sensory journey through the flavors, aromas, and traditions that define Georgian gastronomy. This engaging lecture will explore the rich culinary heritage of Georgia, uncovering the history behind its most iconic dishes, the unique techniques that have been passed down for generations, and the regional specialties that showcase the diversity of Georgian cuisine. Leading this gastronomic exploration is Pavel Sirotin, founder of the Bevri-Georgian Restaurant. With a deep passion for Georgian culture and its celebrated supra (feast) traditions, Pavel will offer insights into the significance of food in Georgian hospitality, the art of the tamada (toastmaster), and the role of wine in Georgia’s 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition.
