On September 27th, 2020, the Georgian Heritage Foundation held its first event, launching The School of Georgian Heritage. This initiative, inspired by our founder Liana Nitsetskaia’s vision, addressed the challenge of preserving the Georgian language among children in the diaspora, where it risked becoming a second language.
Liana emphasized the urgency of acting to ensure future generations stay connected to their heritage. The event, held during the traditional Georgian harvest festival Rtveli, marked the beginning of this mission, bringing the community together to protect Georgian culture.
We extended our gratitude to our dedicated team, the Consulate General of Georgia in San Francisco, and TBS Design Gallery for their support in making this project a reality.
